The National Peace Council has expressed concerns about, what they describe as, the ongoing political tensions in the country, including the arrest of demonstrators on the streets of Accra.

This comes after 39 members of the Democracy Hub, were remanded into police custody for two weeks.

The arrests occurred following violent clashes between protesters and police at the 37 Intersection in Accra on Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22.

In response, the Council has assured the public that it actively engages with relevant stakeholders to address the situation and find a peaceful resolution.

In a statement released Wednesday, September 25, the Peace Council reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining national peace and stability during these challenging times.
