Residents of Essikado-Ketan have expressed dissatisfaction with both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stating that the two major political parties have not contributed to the constituency’s development.

Speaking during The Community Forum with Philip Nii Lartey, one resident, Madam Naomi, voiced her concerns over the lack of meaningful progress from both parties.

She said that both the NPP and the NDC use sweet words in their campaign messages to get people to vote for them but once they win power, they do the opposite.

“God tells us to speak the truth and it is appearing that both the NPP and the NDC are not helping us. They act as though the country belongs to them. If the NDC comes to power and you don’t appreciate their effort then we vote against them. When the NPP also comes we do the same. So, the two of them are not helping us at all.

“When they want to come to power, they tell us sweet things for us to vote for them and when they get to office they act as though they have forgotten the things they promised.

“For now, I am thinking as to whether to vote or not because as we speak things are not going well for me. So, I am not convinced yet on who to vote for,” she stated

A taxi driver expressed frustration, stating that most of the roads in Kojokrom are in terrible condition, making it difficult for them to earn a living.

“Most of our politicians have taken us for granted, especially us, the drivers. Just take a careful look at the manifestos they both launched for the 2024 general election.

“There is no part that benefits us the drivers. Just yesterday, I was in Kokonmpe to buy some spare parts for my car, the things were expensive such that I had to return home to get more money before I could buy just a car coil. So you tell me, what is the reason why I should vote for any of the two parties?”he stated.
