The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, outlined his vision for the Ahafo Region during his two-day #Mahama4Change campaign tour in Goaso.

Mahama emphasised that the Ahafo Region, known for its rich natural resources, holds significant potential.

He promised to empower farmers by enhancing agricultural productivity through modern farming techniques and providing financial support via Farmer Services Centres.

These measures, he said, would ensure farmers thrive and contribute significantly to Ghana’s economy.

He also outlined plans to create jobs by investing in local industries, particularly in mining and agro-processing, under the “24-hour economy” initiative.

This, he believes, will reduce unemployment and drive economic growth, especially for the youth in Ahafo.

Speaking to residents, Mahama pledged to implement the 24-hour economy initiative to stimulate business development, job creation, and overall economic growth in the region.

“We will work to upgrade roads, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. A strong infrastructure network is critical for accessibility and will pave the way for better services and opportunities,” he stated.

Additionally, Mahama vowed to promote environmentally sustainable practices across all sectors, ensuring that as natural resources are exploited, it is done responsibly to protect the environment for future generations.
