Fiifi Boafo, spokesperson for NPP running mate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has urged Ghanaians to vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the December polls, stating that the choice between progress and retrogression is clear.
Speaking on Eyewitness News, Boafo emphasised the importance of not returning to the challenges of the past, including the era of ‘dumsor’ (frequent power outages) and lack of essential resources in schools.
He pointed out the progress made under the NPP government, including improvements in education, power supply, and the digitisation of the economy.
“There is every reason why Ghanaians should vote for Dr Bawumia to be our president. We should not in any way have doubt in our minds as to deciding between upgrading as a people and resetting back to the days of ‘dumsor,’ back to the days of I will not give you chalk today or tomorrow, back to the days when we needed electricity for basic necessities of life and we will be told that the fact that we charge many mobile phones we cannot have power supply at all times.”
“We are not supposed to go back to the days when teachers and nursing trainees did not have allowances to help them study. We are not supposed to go back to the days when children of poor parents could not have access to education. Rather, we are supposed to upgrade to a state where we can get employment for our people, we will digitise our economy, we will ensure that bold solutions are there to address the challenges of our people and that is the more reason why we must vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to be the president and vote for the NPP parliamentary candidates to help him implement the bold solutions he has for this country,” he stated.
