The Coalition of Unemployed Allied Health Professionals has threatened a nationwide demonstration against the government in the coming days over delays to have its members posted.
This follows a picketing by the group at the Ministry of Health on Monday, September 16, pushing the government to provide financial clearance for its 2019 to 2023 batches, who are still awaiting official placement.
Convener of the coalition, Frederick Adjei said members will not relent until their demands are met.
“We pay money to renew our pins, pins that we are not using. We have been here since 2019 and we don’t want to mention any profession. It seems the ministry is prioritising some other professions than the Allied Health and we want to know, we want to communicate through the media, if the job description of the allied professionals are no more needed. They should tell us.
“Then we will tell our sisters and brothers who are going to school, paying school fees so that they will quit. Because we have been home for a very long time. We beg you. We will surely come back and we want to hear from the ministry. We will issue a statement for a nationwide demonstration and we are not going to relent on this.”
