John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has highlighted the challenges faced by the Shai-Osudoku constituency due to its large size and poor road infrastructure.
Speaking during his campaign tour in Dodowa, Mahama emphasised the need for redemarcation to improve governance and accessibility.
“A few things are affecting this constituency. One is the size of the constituency. We got to Osudoku shortly after 12 o’clock and we took off from there to come to Dodowa and look at the time we arrived—after 3 o’clock. One reason is that the road is bad, and two, because the constituency is huge,” Mahama stated.
He pointed out that the upcoming opportunity to redemarcate constituencies and districts next year, should the NDC come into the office, would be crucial in addressing these issues.
“Luckily, there is an opportunity to redemarcate constituencies and districts next year when the NDC comes into office. So we will consider splitting Osudoku into two separate constituencies,” he added.
