The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, says they will insist on a credible register leading to the December 7 election, and the only way to achieve this is for the Electoral Commission to heed the call for an audit.
Addressing party supporters at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, he urged them to remain resolute in their demands on the EC.
The NDC is embarking on a national protest across all regions to press home their demands.
The National Chairman is leading the charge in Accra and had this to say before the start of the protest: “We are not asking for a favour from the Electoral Commission, or Nana Akufo-Addo, or even Bawumia. We are demanding our rights, a free and fair election. So, we are warning them that today is only the beginning. If they think that after this demonstration everybody is going to sleep, then they are wrong.
“We have restricted this demonstration to regional offices. The next demonstration will be at every district office, and then we will go to the constituency offices of the Electoral Commission and will fight and fight till the right thing is done.”
