The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the National Peace Council, clergy and the general public to call the Electoral Commission (EC) to order a forensic audit of the voters register which they allege has a number of discrepancies.

According to the NDC, the commission can not preside over credible elections if the voter register is flawed.

The National Youth Organiser of the party, George Opare Addo, speaking to the EC after the Eastern Regional Chairman of the party, Mark Oliver Kevor, presented a petition to the regional EC Boss to climax the demonstration indicated that this is the right time for all those calling for peace to call on the EC to audit the voter register.

“To the peace-loving Ghanaians, the chiefs of this country, the Otumfuo, and the many others who want to see a better Ghana. It is their call to duty. The Police Service, it is also your responsibility to see to it that the right things are done.

“The Peace Council, don’t let us sound like a broken record. We are asking all of you that an audit is the rightful thing to do,” he stated.
