Beatrice Annan, spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign team, has reiterated the position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that its presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, will not participate in any debate organised by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).
The IEA announced on Friday that it has scheduled its first and second presidential debates for October 22 and November 19, 2024, respectively.
Additionally, the institute has planned one Vice Presidential debate and five Evening Encounters ahead of the December 7 polls.
The Vice Presidential Debate is set for November 5, 2024, with the first Evening Encounter on Wednesday, September 18, and the last on Tuesday, October 15.
Speaking to Umaru Sanda Amadu on Eyewitness News on Citi FM, Beatrice Annan stated that Mr Mahama would not debate the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, citing contradictions and a lack of sincerity from Bawumia and his government.
