The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged the public to participate in its “Enough is Enough” demonstration scheduled for September 17, 2024.

This follows the party’s agreement with the police on a designated route for the planned nationwide protests.

The demonstrations are in response to the Electoral Commission’s (EC) handling of discrepancies in the voter register.

The leadership of the party raised concerns during the recent voter exhibition exercise, where it said it identified several irregularities in the provisional voters register.

Speaking to the media, General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, called on Ghanaians to demand free, fair, and transparent elections.

“I mean, we have said it again and again, the election ahead of us is about the very soul of our country. So effectively, this demonstration is not even about NDC at all, it is about Ghana.

“So we expect every Ghanaian to be part of this demonstration across the regions of the country because the very credibility of the register that we are going to be using to vote is going to literally determine whatever happens on election day.

“Now the whole of Ghana knows we all want the election to happen well and happen in peace, be fair, be transparent and this is the moment to ensure that we press home those demands and ensure that we have a very credible register and ensure that what it is we are looking for that will bring about the transparency is done.”
