Some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asawase Constituency are doubling up efforts as they hope to make inroads in terms of votes for the party’s Presidential Candidate in the upcoming elections.

Despite the constituency being a stronghold for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), NPP members remain resolute in making more gains in the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

A member of the NPP Campaign Team, Ali Suraj said the party was targeting over 80 per cent of votes for the party’s Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahammudu Bawumia in the December Presidential elections.

” I said it is possible because I have worked hard when it comes to this constituency, and I know this constituency very well. I know how to campaign in this constituency. I know how to win the election in this constituency. This is my constituency; I own this constituency. I do politics day, night, afternoon, morning. I eat politics, sleep politics, drink politics. I do everything in politics. You can see, today, I bring my wife out. I bring all my children out.

“It tells you that me and my family are coming out to ask for a vote for people to go and vote for. If you want to vote, you will not go and bring people’s families. You have to bring your family first to show that yes, indeed, you are ready to win the seat for Bawumia and Bawumia will win in Asawase at all costs,” he stated.

The NPP in Asawase Constituency despite efforts in previous elections has not been able to meet set targets with the NDC holding on to the mantle.

The party has accused the NDC of doing little to improve lives in its stronghold.

NPP’s National Third Vice Chairman, Masawudu Osman reveals the party is also working to mend the cracks within its rank and urges unity ahead of the elections.
