Prof Emmanuel Kwesi Aning, a security consultant in risk analysis, has emphasized the critical need for stakeholders to work collaboratively towards achieving free and fair elections in December.

He stressed that the country and stakeholders need to be specific with their interventions and not just assume that the December polls will be free and fair without concerted efforts.

Prof Aning made these remarks during an interview with Bernard Avle on “Point of View” on Channel One TV on Monday, where he discussed “Building trust for credible and peaceful election 2024.”

“We tend in this country to have this notion that getting to free, fair, credible, and hopefully acceptable electoral outcomes just happens. My argument is that they do not.”

“As a nation and stakeholders, we need to be very specific in the interventions that we undertake, but even more importantly, we must work towards those outcomes. Where we see that we are going wrong, we must be bold enough to call out that we are doing something wrong and that we need to change it,” he stated.
