The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has requested a live broadcast of its emergency meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) on Friday, September 6, 2024.

The meeting aims to discuss the NDC’s observations on the Provisional Voters Register (PVR), which they claim contains discrepancies.

In a statement signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC argued that a live broadcast would embody the EC’s motto of transparency.

The NDC and other groups raised concerns about errors and omissions discovered during the exhibition of the voters’ register from August 20 to August 27.

However, the EC has clarified that the exhibition process is designed to identify and correct errors and that the final voter register used for elections is only printed after all issues have been resolved.

The meeting is expected to address the concerns raised by the NDC and other stakeholders, ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.
