NPP sets date for re-run of Walewale parliamentary primary

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the timeline for the re-run of the parliamentary primary in the Walewale constituency, following a ruling by the High Court in Tamale annulling the previous election, which declared Dr Mahama Tia Kabiru as the winner.

According to a statement from the party, nominations for the re-run will open on Tuesday, September 3, and close on Thursday, September 5, 2024. The election is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 8.

Aspiring parliamentary candidates are required to obtain nomination forms by paying a non-refundable application fee of GH¢ 3,000.00 via a banker’s draft payable to the New Patriotic Party National Headquarters in Accra.

To officially file their nominations, candidates must also pay a non-refundable filing fee of GH¢ 35,000.00.
