The Minister of Health, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye has disclosed that Phase 1 of the Specialist Skills Training Centre is expected to be completed in October, this year.
The Training Centre when completed aims to empower practitioners with the requisite skills and competencies essential for delivering safe and high-quality services to citizens
Dr Boye emphasised that the government is actively engaging the World Bank and other stakeholders to secure funds for phase II of the project.
He made this known at the induction of the newly qualified medical and dental practitioners in Accra.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that the ministry has made significant progress on the National Specialist Skills Training Centre funded by the World Bank. The construction of phase one commenced in January 2024 and is expected to be completed by October of this year.”
“Furthermore, we are actively engaging the World Bank and other health development partners to secure additional funding for phase two of the project, ensuring the successful completion of this landmark project.
“This pivotal initiative aims to empower our practitioners with the requisite skills and competencies essential for delivering safe and high-quality services to our dear citizens. By investing in the development of a healthcare workforce, we reaffirm our dedication to fostering a healthier, more prosperous future for the people of this country,” he stated.
