The National Democratic Congress NDC has cautioned senior security officers who have plans to assist the governing New Patriotic Party to allegedly rig the December 7 general elections to immediately abort such plans.
The National Chairman of the party Johnson Asiedu Nketiah who urged the senior security officers not to succumb to demands of the ruling NPP said any law enforcer who will aid the NPP to subvert the will of electorates will never go unpunished.
Speaking in the Ayensuano Constituency as part of his tour of the region, Asiedu Nketiah who revealed that the NDC has all the details of security officers who participated in the killing of the eight people in the 2020 elections said the crime has no expiry date.
“The security personnel, if you follow the government to do some unlawful things because your government is in power, on the day of reckoning, the government that encouraged you to open fire on the people would have left power and left you alone to face the consequences.
“Those who have intended to rig the 2024 election, the Police and military commanders, if you give orders for people to open fire on the people, you will not go scot-free, because crime has no expiry date. For the eight people who died in the 2020 election, accountability waits for them.
“Today, some of them have benefited from that act and have been promoted as ministers and still threatening to repeat what they did in the last elections. Tell them they are joking, everything you do, know that first fool is not a fool,”
