The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has requested an emergency meeting with the Electoral Commission to address concerns regarding the ongoing voters’ exhibition exercise.

In a letter signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Kwetey, the NDC emphasized the need for the meeting to discuss “very serious discrepancies discovered during the ongoing 2024 voter exhibition exercise.”

The party highlighted that an analysis of the provisional voter register has uncovered numerous discrepancies that require immediate action.

The voter exhibition exercise, which began nationwide on Tuesday, August 20, is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, August 27.

Below is the NDC’s full letter.

REQUEST FOR AN IMPORTANT EMERGENCY MEETING WITH YOUR TEAM OVER THE 2024 VOTER EXHIBITION EXERCISE

We bring you greetings from the NDC Party Headquarters, Accra and trust that this letter finds you well.

We write to request an important emergency meeting with you and your team to discuss very serious discrepancies discovered during the ongoing 2024 voter exhibition exercise. The discrepancies emanate from analysis of the Provisional Voter Register (PVR) given to us by the Commission, and registers being exhibited at the centres.

We anticipate a favourable and timely response as we work towards free, fair and transparent elections.
