Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Spokesperson for the Bawumia Campaign Team, has defended the Vice President’s decision to reference his manifesto during the ‘Bawumia hosts the media’ held on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

The NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has come under public criticism for his constant reference to his manifesto policy document when he met with media practitioners, to provide answers to some of the questions posed to him.

Speaking on the issue on Eyewitness News on Monday, August 26, Miracle Aboagye argued that it was appropriate for Dr Bawumia to refer to specific data and information contained in his manifesto when answering questions from the media.

“You would want me as the vice president or the flagbearer to be telling you things in the air and just throwing words around or you would want him to contextualise it and tell you exactly what it is. I don’t believe that the expectation was for me the flagbearer or the vice president to recite things on top of my head whether I believed in it or not.

“There is absolutely nothing wrong for anybody at all to receive a question and make reference to the specific document that has the specific data and information and to respond to it.

“I could tell you that I have created millions of jobs, another person will tell you I have created 1,000 jobs. I think the best answer is the one that is definite to tell you that I have created 1,000. The one that is evading is the one that says I’ve created thousands of jobs, and I think what Dr Bawummia sought to do was to provide answers that are quite definite and quite specific,” he stated.
