The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has called for strategic improvements to Ghana’s systems rather than a complete overhaul.
Speaking at a media engagement in Accra on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that Ghana’s progress depends on targeted upgrades to existing structures, rather than starting from scratch.
This stance contrasts with the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) call for a “reset” of the country’s systems.
During the launch of the NDC manifesto at the University of Education, Winneba, in the Central Region, the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, argued that Ghana needs a fundamental reset.
In response, Dr Bawumia stated, “Ghana needs an upgrade, not a reset,” and highlighted the importance of building on the country’s current achievements.
He pointed to advancements in digitalisation, infrastructure, and education as key areas where further enhancements can drive continued development.
