Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority leader of Parliament says the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has executed the state capture plan captured in the ‘Agyapadie’ document.

The “Agyapadie” document is a controversial and disputed text that allegedly outlines a plan for state capture by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The document, which surfaced around the 2016 general elections, details strategies for controlling key economic and political sectors in Ghana to ensure dominance by certain powerful individuals, particularly those of Akyem descent.

Speaking at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto launch at Winneba on Saturday, Forson alleged that the NPP has systematically taken control of key state institutions and resources for their own benefit.

Forson outlined several instances where he believes the NPP has manipulated state mechanisms to serve partisan interests, undermining democratic principles and governance.

He argued that this alleged state capture has led to widespread corruption and inefficiency within the government.

“The NPP government has been a monumental failure, they have destroyed our livelihoods, they have indeed driven our economy aground. They have collapsed Ghana’s cocoa sector; they have wasted and dissipated Ghana’s public fund. They have destroyed our good governance. They have reversed the progress of our country.”

“They have delivered crude and painful haircuts across board. They have corrupted the moral fibre of our dear country, and of course, they have implemented the ‘Agyapadie’ state capture plan. Let me say, the time has come for us to come together for us to restore our country and reset our country,” he stated.
