Ghana’s Parliamentary Chamber is currently undergoing major renovations aimed at enhancing the facility.
During a visit by Channel One News, it was noted that the fixtures and fittings within the chamber had been removed for refurbishment.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, visited the chamber on Friday, August 23, to inspect the ongoing work and evaluate the progress of the renovations.
Currently, all the desks, chairs, carpets among others have all been moved out. Rewiring is taking place for a whole new conferencing system.
The retrofitting of the chamber started some two weeks ago. It will be recalled that in 2014, the Parliamentary Service renovated the chamber with new furniture procured from China which did not go down well with Ghanaian taxpayers.
