Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Manifesto Committee, has stated that the party is not complacent about the 2024 general elections.

In an interview with Bernard Avle on The Point of View on Channel One TV, the Minister of Works and Housing conceded that the upcoming election is a closely contested race, and they will not take their position for granted.

He emphasized that the NPP government remains committed to addressing the numerous challenges facing the country, and appealed to Ghanaians to vote decisively in favour of the NPP.

“We do not go to bed thinking that we have won this election. Unlike I think in 2008, when one of our famous seniors said: “Agbeinaa” [done deal]. No, that’s not what we’re doing. We’re in this race with a clear understanding that there are challenges today, that need to be responded to, some of which we are doing.

“There are challenges on the horizon that we need proposed answers to, and we are putting those answers forward. We are also clear in our minds that in this election, it remains a tight race.

“But as we speak to people who are looking for solutions when we explain our propositions, and we invite the NDC to explain their propositions, many of those who leave the tables say our answers  are the best, and we are clear that is going to be translated into the win for us in December.”
