The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayensu Ntim has urged members of the party to stop complaints, opinions, or arguments expressed in a forceful or animated manner.
He has urged the party to unite ahead of the December polls.
He said that was to ensure that the party secured victory in the December polls.
Speaking at the party’s manifesto launch in Takoradi on Sunday, the NPP’s national chairman also urged Ghanaians to support the party’s flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and parliamentary candidates.
“I humbly call on all Ghanaians to support our party’s flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and all our Parliamentary Candidates in the upcoming general elections,” he stated.
He added to all party faithfuls “Let’s close our ranks to ensure winning this election ahead of us.”
The Majority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, also urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidates and members of the party to actively campaign and secure victories in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
He emphasised that the current Akufo-Addo administration faced challenges in Parliament due to the nearly equal numbers of seats, which made governance difficult. Afenyo-Markin insisted that this situation must not be repeated under a Bawumia presidency.
“Don’t give up, let us work together… To our parliamentarians, I say Kudos to all of you. I thank you for your support through your steadfastness and resilience although we have a very tight parliament.
“We have a majority of one…But we have a few months ahead of us. I want to encourage you to please make yourself available to support the course of government. Let’s finish hard. There is a price awaiting us.”
“To all parliamentary candidates let me plead with you enough of the reconciliation. Move on, fight hard, campaign day and night, go to every household. We don’t have time to settle disputes.
“Fight for this party the way you fight to save a sister, fight for this party the way you save a mother, fight for this party we need our numbers in parliament,” he stated.
