Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, has bid farewell to his constituency, Manhyia South where he served as a Member of Parliament, for 16 years.
This comes after he was selected by the party’s flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to be his running mate going into the 2024 general elections.
Addressing a gathering of the party executives in the constituency, NAPO expressed gratitude to the party and constituents for their support throughout his tenure as MP.
NAPO also appealed to the Manhyia South residents, especially the NPP executives and members, to continue to support him in his new position.
“It’s extremely difficult to say goodbye to my beloved Manhyia South Constituency after 16 consecutive years of service to my people,” he stated.
The NPP running mate appealed to his constituents to faithfully support Lawyer Baffuor Awuah, his successor, to win the impending election and sustain the development of the area.
“Lawyer Baffuor Awuah will be succeeding me as your MP so please make me the “Abusuapanin” to wit ‘head of the family’ in Manhyia South Constituency, henceforth,” he added.
