The Chairman of the Management Committee for Ghana’s Black Princesses, Gideon Fosu, has confirmed to Citi News that the outstanding qualifying bonuses for the team have been fully paid ahead of their participation in the Under-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
While each player was originally promised $6,000 for their performance in the qualifiers, they ultimately received a revised amount of $4,500.
The payment comes just in time for the Black Princesses as they gear up for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup, which begins on August 31.
“That has been settled and we would like to say thank you to the ministry. I think the minister did very well. We had a couple of conversations. The FA president also had to chip in a word or two, and that had been paid. Thankfully, the girls and the technical team are okay. We are going into this tournament in high spirits,” he stated.
