Ghana will not compete in the Men’s 4×100 meter relay final at the 2024 Paris Olympics after being disqualified despite finishing the semifinal race.

Team Ghana, which consisted of Benjamin Azamati, Ibrahim Fuseini, Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, and Joseph Paul Amoah, was initially ranked seventh in the heat but was later disqualified for a lane infraction.

In the second heat, Ghana’s team finished with a time of 39.12 seconds. Liberia, which finished seventh in the same heat with a time of 38.97 seconds, also did not advance. The top three teams in each heat qualify for the finals, with China winning the heat in 38.24 seconds, followed by France and Canada with times of 38.34 and 38.39 seconds, respectively.

The disqualification means Ghana will not advance to the finals of this prestigious Olympic event, marking an unfortunate end to their relay campaign.
