A staff fixing the broken ferry in Dambai met his untimely death after drowning while underwater fixing the ferry.
Assembly member for the Dambai Central Assembly who recounted the incident to Citi News said, the ferry got stuck in the middle of Oti River prompting the deceased and another staff to enter the river to fix the damage caused.
The deceased unfortunately drowned while fixing the ferry.
Charles Awuranyi, the Assembly Member for the Dambai Central electoral area, called for a permanent solution to the problems on the ferry.
“Every day, we talk about this pantoon and the challenges associated with it. It makes travelling difficult for travellers.
“We have talked about it for long yet nothing has happened. We don’t want this issue to occur again. So, we call on them to come up with a permanent solution for the pontoon,” he stated.
