Residents of Anyaa School Junction in the Ga South Municipality took to the streets Thursday morning, to express their frustration over non-functioning traffic lights, which they claim are contributing to dangerous traffic conditions and fatalities.

According to them, the traffic lights have not been functioning for close to three years now.

The demonstration, they added, was prompted by a tragic incident that occurred on Wednesday, July 31, where two pedestrians were struck by speeding vehicles at the intersection.
The residents argue that the malfunctioning traffic lights have created a hazardous environment for both drivers and pedestrians, exacerbating the risk of accidents.
