The Vine Christian High School (VCHS) was announced the winners of the Pan African Robotics Competition that took place on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Dakar, Senegal.
This event, which brought together top high school robotics teams from across Africa, saw VCHS clinch first place with their innovative design and outstanding performance.
The Pan African Robotics Competition tasked the teams with designing, building, and programming robots to complete complex challenges.

VCHS, also the 2023 Ghana Robotics Competition Champions, showcased exceptional skill, creativity, and teamwork, securing the top spot among highly competitive teams.
The competition featured around 400 brilliant young minds from 14 African countries, including Mali, Uganda, Lesotho, Madagascar, Nigeria, and Cote d’Ivoire.
The head of the Coding and Robotics Department at VCHS said he is proud of the group’s victory.

“Our students have dedicated countless hours of hard work, innovation, and commitment to achieve this milestone,” said Mr Triumph Tetteh, Head of the Coding and Robotics Department at VCHS. “Their success is a testament to their passion for robotics. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments.”
The team, comprising Miss Alexine Seiba Amoako-Mensah and Masters Zachary Opoku, Joshua Sunkwa-Mills, and Joshua-Caleb Dadzie, utilised their diverse skills and strategic approach to achieve success.

This victory underscores VCHS’s growing excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education and its dedication to nurturing young innovators.
