Haruna Iddrisu, the Member of Parliament (MP)  for Tamale South and former Minority Leader in Parliament, has issued a reminder to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo regarding the nature of this year’s general elections.

He expressed that the upcoming election is an opportunity for President Akufo-Addo and the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) to transition power to former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and not a ‘coronation.’

Mr Iddrisu said this during the party’s campaign launch in Tamale on Saturday.

“President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo be reminded that the 2024 presidential and parliamentary election is not a coronation.”

“It is an election that John Dramani Mahama will win, and you have no option than to hand over power to him respecting the Ghanaian people,” he stated.
