The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Salam Mustapha, has touted the anti-corruption credentials of the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

According to Mustapha, this is evident in the accountability initiatives spearheaded by the Office of the Vice President to seal loopholes in the public sector.

He made this known during an interaction on a local media station in the Upper West Region as part of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tours in the region.

Salam Mustapha, who worked closely with Dr. Bawumia as Director of Programs and Events at the Office of the Vice President, says he can testify to the anti-corruption credentials of the NPP flagbearer.

He challenged anyone with a contrary view to come forward with evidence.

“I am against corruption, and I am a firm advocate for the fight against corruption. I have worked with a man who is not corrupt, and that is why we have thrown the challenge that if anyone has any iota of truth that Dr. Bawumia is involved in any corrupt activity, let them bring it. And to date, of all the things they can say about Dr. Bawumia, they can’t say he is corrupt. Because that is not his nature,” he stated.

Salam Mustapha believes this differentiates Dr. Bawumia from NDC flagbearer John Mahama, who, in his view, can be proven to be corrupt.

“He is the first president that has proof of corruption about him. And I am not the one saying it. The crown courts in London point to him as having been complicit in the Airbus scandal. For him, he is super corrupt, he is fantastically corrupt, he is chronically corrupt, and he is overly corrupt. And I am not the one saying it. There is evidence of it on him,” the NPP youth organiser noted about John Mahama.

Salam Mustapha also discredited the recent polls conducted by UK-based Fitch Solutions, which put President Mahama ahead with 54%.

He said that Fitch’s report could not be true because they partly relied on information from Global Info Analytics.

“It’s a lie. We have checked with Fitch. They have not done anything. They went and picked data from Musa Dankwah. He has never done any research that is accurate. I am a researcher. So I understand the tenets of research. To say the NDC will win with 99% in Oforikrom is out of place. I don’t know which kind of research will bring this outcome?” Salam Mustapha said.
