Management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in the Ashanti Region has announced scheduled repair works on the 900mm (36”) transmission line at Breman Ahenfo.

The transmission line, according to a statement by the GWCL, was damaged by a road contractor’s equipment used in constructing drains from the Suame roundabout to Breman Ahenfo on July 12, 2024.

The perforation was temporarily repaired to restore water supply to residents.

To facilitate the necessary repairs, management has requested the shutdown of the Barekese Water Treatment Plant, which supplies water to the Ashanti Region.

The repair work will take place on Wednesday, July 24, 2024. GWL engineers will work to restore the transmission line, and as such, customers are advised to store enough water in advance.
