The District Security Douncil, DISEC in Kpandai has called on the leaders of the Konkomba Youth Association (KOYA) and chiefs in the district to advise the youth in the area to stop the attacks on herdsmen.
Three days ago, some Konkomba youth in Kpandai went on rampage for attacking herdsmen men in the area ended up burning and killing their flock.
This attack comes after a group of unidentified men on Sunday evening July 7, attacked and inflicted wounds on a Konkomba man who was returning home from work.
The victim was brought to Kpandai town, the information on the unidentified men were that they were alleged to be Fulani herdsmen.
On seeing the condition of the victim, the angry Konkomba youth went and completely destroyed the home of the local Fulani chief and also killed his cattle.
The incident has escalated to other communities in the district, where Fulani herdsmen and their animals have become targets.
The district security council is calling on the leadership of the Konkomba Youth Association and Konkomba chiefs in the area to intervene and urge the youth to stop the attacks.
