The Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has expressed confidence in the NPP’s chances of winning the upcoming general elections in December.

According to him, the opposition NDC is under the wild assumption that they have already won. However, he said that the NDC is living in a dreamland and will wake up to the shock of their lives.

Speaking on the sidelines of the official outdooring of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s running mate, the chieftaincy minister in an interview with Channel One News criticised the NDC, for what he described, as premature confidence in winning the 2024 polls.

“We are here, and it is a starting point. Today, we are going to do down; between now and elections is a long time. No party has won. I hear the NDC thinks they have won; they haven’t won anything. People have not gone to the polls yet; when they do, we will also go there and defend our policies.

“The NDC is only dreaming; they are in a dreamland. I think they have this wild idea that they’ve already won, where?  As if they are the only ones voting, we are also voting, and they will wake up with a shock of their lives,” he stated.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to officially introduce Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as “NAPO,” as the running mate to their flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the 2024 general elections today, Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

The announcement will take place at Kumasi Jubilee Park in the Ashanti Region, a stronghold of the party.

The outdooring of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh is expected to attract key figures within the NPP, including President Akufo-Addo, the Council of Elders, Members of Parliament, and other notable members.
