John Mahama, the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has emphasised his commitment to, what he describes as, sound economic management and governance reforms in Ghana.

According to him, when he is voted president, his priority will be to stabilise the economy and halt the deterioration of the country’s currency, the cedi.

In a post on X, the former president, also promised to implement an economic policy that will be focused on sustainable growth and the equitable distribution of its benefits.

“Sound and prudent economic management, founded on broad and far-reaching governance and economic reforms, will take root in Ghana under my leadership.

“My priority will be to stabilize the economy and halt the deterioration in the cedi’s value against other currencies. Economic policy will be geared towards sustainable growth, with an equitable distribution of the proceeds of that growth,” the X post stated.
