Former striker for Medeama, AshantiGold & Legon Cities striker Hans Kwofie has tragically passed away in a car accident at Dadwen, Citi Sports can confirm.
According to Kwofie’s brother, he was en route to have lunch when his car collided with an oncoming passenger bus and lost his life instantly.
“We all sitting here when it began raining and when it stopped he [Hans Kwofie] mentioned that, he has not eaten since morning, so he is going to get something to eat.
“There’s a chop bar between Dompe and Pimpesa, the place is called Dadwen, he drove there for the food together with his friend. So he asked me to go with them and I refused because I mentioned that I am not feeling well, so I did not follow. Upon the return, he crashed with a trotro and lost his life together with his friend.
Hans Kwofie, 37, had been a free agent since August 2023 after being released by Medeama, where he struggled to make an impact upon returning to his boyhood club.

Throughout his career, Kwofie enjoyed significant success in Obuasi, a Ghanaian mining town, playing for three-time Premier League champions AshantiGold.
He was the league’s top scorer 2017 and played for other Ghanaian clubs like Legon Cities and Aduana Stars.
