The Medical Director of Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital has been temporarily relieved of his duties pending an investigation by a committee established by the Ghana Health Service.
This inquiry follows allegations of the abandonment of a patient in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region.
The Ghana Health Service has put together a committee to investigate the circumstances that lead to the unfortunate demise of the 44-year-old accident victim.
The committee tasked to conduct the investigation includes; The Deputy Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon from the Ridge Hospital and a Representative from the Ministry of Health
There is also a Representative from the Social Welfare Department, and A senior Nurse Manager
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has directed the Ghana Health Service to submit a report on the investigation’s findings within 30 days.
