The Ghana Grid Company Ltd. (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have notified the public of an anticipated three-week power supply disruption stemming from a decreased gas supply originating from Nigeria.

The shortfall in gas, as clarified by the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), is attributed to maintenance activities by a Nigerian gas supplier, with an expected duration of three weeks.

This maintenance work has led to a decrease in power production capacity in Ghana, potentially necessitating load shedding throughout the maintenance period.

Despite this, GRIDCo and ECG have expressed their commitment to working with relevant entities within the power sector to manage resources efficiently and mitigate the effects on consumers during this period.
