Black Stars captain, Thomas Partey, has called on Vice President of Ghana and New Patriotic Party Flag bearer in the 2024 Ghana Elections, Dr. Mahumudu Bawumia, to help provide a better football stadium for the Black Stars to play good football.
He said this in his address delivered at a meeting between members of Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team and the Vice President when Dr. Bawumia visited the team ahead of a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic (CAR).
The matchup against CAR kicks off at 19:00 GMT tonight at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on the back of Ghana’s huge 2-1 win over Mali in Bamako.
After thanking Dr. Bawumia for taking time off his schedule to visit the team, the Arsenal player made the call for a better playing surface.
“We want to say thank you for coming we really appreciate it… I have one request from all the players, we asking for a good stadium because we want to play better football so we need a better stadium and also for us to perform better. It’s the only time we can see you for now so I need to say it.”
