NPP mourns passing of Upper West Regional Chairman, directs party flags to fly at half-mast

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is mourning the demise of its Upper West Regional Chairman, Saabanye Basilide Kangbere, affectionately known as Chairman Heavy Weight who passed away in the early hours of Friday, June 7, 2024, in Accra.

Tanko Dauda Daniel, the Upper West regional secretary of the NPP, confirmed the sad incident to ChannelOne News.

In a statement signed by the NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party extended its heartfelt condolences to the family of the late regional chairman and directed all party flags to be flown at half-mast in his honour for the next seven days.

“Despite his loss, the New Patriotic Party is comforted by his legacy of hard work and dedication to our dear country and extends our deepest condolences to the bereaved family, particularly his wife and children, and the people of the Upper West Region for the loss of such a great son of the land.

“As a mark of respect in his honour, the Party directs that all Party flags fly at half-mast for the next seven days,” part of the statement read.
