Convenors of the #DumsorMustStop vigil have stated that they have resolved all issues with the police and are ready to embark on a peaceful protest on June 8, 2024.
At a press conference on Wednesday, June 5, the organisers argued that the power situation in the country remains unstable and their demonstrations aim to pressure the government to resolve these problems.
In their estimation, many parts of the country experience intermittent power supply at peak hours.
They blame this on the government’s inability to pay for the required fuel as asserted by the independent power producers.
Addressing the media in Accra, one of the convenors, Henry Osei, called on the public to join the vigil on Saturday.
