Some key members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and select government officials have begun to converge in the United States for the grand 30th-anniversary celebration and fundraising event of the NPP-USA.
Leading the delegation are the NPP National Chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, General Secretary Justin Frimpong Koduah, and Women’s Organiser Kate Gyamfua, who are set to play significant roles in the festivities.
Slated for May 25, 2024, the event is themed “30 Years of Political Dedication and Sacrifice; Honouring Our Heroes, Preserving Our Legacy, Securing Our Future Through Victory” and will take place at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia, as confirmed by Obaa Yaa Amponsah Frimpong, the Chairperson of NPP-USA.
The Vice President of Ghana and the NPP’s Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will grace the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour.
The gathering will also be attended by notable figures such as Ghana’s Ambassador to the USA, Hajia Alima Mahama, Hon. Joseph Osei-Wusu, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Bekwai Constituency, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, the former General Secretary, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Napaga Tia Sulemana, the National Coordinator for Special Development Initiative at the Office of the President, Etornam James Flolu, among other distinguished party personalities.
Since its establishment in September 1993, with its inaugural Congress in Virginia, the NPP-USA Branch has been instrumental in the party’s development, advocating for democracy, vying for political influence, spearheading constitutional reforms, fostering innovation in electoral technology, and setting up the External Affairs office, among other significant contributions.
The event on Saturday will not only celebrate the heroes who have shaped the party but also engage in a fundraising drive to bolster the NPP’s campaign and electoral strategies for the upcoming 2024 elections.
