The Upper West Regional Minister, Hafiz Bin Salih, has decried the death of the Chief Executive Officer of the Cossy Hill Hotel, also known as Jirapa Dubai, as a significant setback to tourism in the region.
The Regional Minister eulogized the contributions of the murdered CEO to the tourism sector in the region and pledged to ensure the hotel continued to operate in his absence.
The renowned businessman was gruesomely murdered and found in his room at the hotel on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Seven persons have been arrested in connection with the murder.
Hafiz Bin Salih said the murder of the respected businessman has saddened the Jirapa community and assured that his outfit will ensure the continual operations of the hotel.
“It made all of us sad because the late Eric Johnson was a giant in the Upper West Region. Cosy Hill Hotel is a huge facility that is comparable to any hotel facility in the country. The facility enhances tourism and business in the region, so the incident is a huge blow and has set us back because we were beginning to find our footing, but what has happened is very bad.
“We don’t have to allow the business to collapse because that will affect the fortunes of the Upper West Region, and we cannot live with that.”
