Beatrice Annan, spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign team, has expressed concern over the living conditions of Ghanaians under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

She lamented that seven years into Akufo-Addo’s administration, Ghanaians continue to grapple with unemployment and poor road infrastructure.

This, she emphasized, is the prevailing sentiment among Ghanaians nationwide as they participate in the ‘Building Ghana Tour.’

In a conversation with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, Ms. Annan asserted that the living standards of Ghanaians have significantly deteriorated, falling far below the level maintained by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“For everywhere we went, if there were two major things which the people complained about, road, I would rank it as number two. Number one was the issue of unemployment. In all the regions that we have been to, every chief, every opinion leader, every group we have met, they have complained about abandoned roads, they have complained about their roads not being constructed, they have complained about the nature of their roads that are actually affecting economic activities.”

“And for me, I haven’t seen anything substantially different in seven years, and given the resources that this government has, I think that it is a shame. Devoid of partisanship, I think that we could have done better for the people of Ghana. And it is a shame that seven years down the line, we are having to have the discussion that the people were having seven years prior to these people coming into office,” she stated.
